About me My name is Eva Katja Weber. I hold dual nationality, both British and German. Since the early 90s, I have been working in mediator roles for the executive management of various companies and since the millennium I have been involved in counselling and therapy. I am very interested in the self and relationships at all levels (intrapersonal, interpersonal and the environment) and how these connections make us tick. I soon realized that our feelings, thoughts and our behaviour have certain patterns. We are experiencing them often without any awareness. During my practitioner training with Richard Bendler, Paul McKenna and Michael Breen in 2003, I experienced how NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) can change those patterns to gain more flexibility in life. While practising I became more and more aware of how “unfinished business” from the past influences the “here and now”. In my experience there is no long-term effect for some reprogramming as the underlying issue had not been resolved enough. That’s how I came to find Gestalt therapy as being very useful. (What is Gestalt?) I am committed to ongoing training and supervision as a means to maintain, deepen and expand my skills. I gained my diploma in counselling at the Gestalt Centre [London 2005], and I see clients in Brighton and London. In autumn 2005, I had the opportunity to attend a Brief Gestalt Therapy course led by Gaie Houston. Being a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I am bound by its Ethical Framework for good practice. The guidelines are accessible through www.bacp.co.uk
